Join other Catholics as a community in supporting your Church and extending Christian charity to those in need.
The Catholic Foundation of Maine manages over 60 funds that have various charitable purposes. Over 12 thousand of Maine’s Catholics have contributed to these funds as a testament to our shared goals and values.

Ensure that your charitable gifts are always used as intended.
The Catholic Foundation of Maine exists as a separate, non-profit entity beholden to its donors, charitable beneficiaries, and only its own creditors.  Funds are generally established through signed documentation of the fund’s purpose, and individual donations can be documented similarly.

Extend the value of your charitable giving forever.
The Foundation primarily manages charitable endowment funds, from which a portion is distributed annually with the intent to preserve the principal contributions in perpetuity.

Generate personal, family, and tax benefits from your giving.
The Executive Director is a specialist in planned charitable giving and happy to assist you.

Create a low-cost, low-hassle alternative to a private foundation.
Donor-advised funds allow a donor and others designated by the donor to advise the Foundation to distribute charitable gifts as desired.  Donors may earn an income tax charitable deduction in the year of the contribution, yet there is no minimum annual distribution from the fund.

Protect your local parish or organization.
All parishes in the Diocese of Portland have endowment funds that you may support in order to create a long-term stream of income for the parish.  Regular income will help to stabilize a parish's finances and planning, while affording greater focus on worship, evangelization, and charity. Endowments may be created for other non-profit organizations.
